SoftExpert Time control general parameters

Prerequisite

  • Access to the Configuration > General parameters (TC040) menu.

Introduction

General parameters define specific configurations for records in the component.

These configurations optimize the use of SoftExpert Time control to meet the organization's needs.

See below how to configure general parameters:

Configuring general parameters

1. Access the Configuration > General parameters (TC040) menu.

2. In the Task tab, it is possible to check the available options:

  • Set nonproject task ID # as read-only: check this option so that the ID # of added nonproject tasks cannot be edited. This way, the system will generate an automatic number for the ID #. If there is an identification mask associated with the task type, it will not be applied.
  • Set task verification as default: check this option so that nonproject tasks added in the system go through the verification step. If necessary, it is possible to change this configuration through the task data screen.
  • Allow entering retroactive dates in the execution of tasks: check this option so that it is possible to enter start and end dates preceding the current date during the execution of a task.
  • Allow entering retroactive percentages in the execution of tasks: check this option so that the executors of a task can enter an execution percentage lower than the one previously set.

3. In the Allow viewing finances on the resource data screen section of the Resource data screen, it is possible to define who will be allowed to view the finances. Check one of the available options: "All", "Leader", or "Users authorized to enter resources".

4. In the EVM tab, it is possible to check the options available in the sections:

  • Calculation frequency: enter the value in days, weeks, or months referring to how often EVM (Earned Value Management) must be calculated for all nonproject tasks
  • Base value for the calculation: determine whether the values used for EVM calculation will be the planned or rescheduled ones.
  • CPI (Cost Performance Index): fill in the available fields with the value ranges that will classify the cost performance index as good, regular, or bad.
  • SCI (Schedule cost index): fill in the available fields with the value ranges that will classify the schedule cost index as good, regular, or bad.
  • SPI (Schedule performance index): fill in the available fields with the value ranges that will classify the schedule performance index as good, regular, or bad.
  • HPI (Human performance index): fill in the available fields with the value ranges that will classify the human performance index as good, regular, or bad.

5. In the Timesheet tab, check the Allow overlapped time period option to allow for more than one entry in the same time interval on the same day.

6. After parameterizing the desired options, click on the button to save the changes.

Conclusion

Thus, the general parameters have been configured.
